Here is a great list of foods that can harm your dog. Cooked bones, I knew. Chocolate, I knew. Plastic food wrap, I could have guessed. But onions? Nutmeg? Broccoli? It's a wonder my old pooch has lasted 15 years.

Who knew? No wonder our dog spit out pieces of onion from some pot roast we gave her. Pretty smart dog but not nice to pick off stuck on onion from a tile floor.

Broccoli was the one that really surprised me. Mine loves broccoli, brussels sprouts, and all kinds of other greens. And tomatoes? She's stolen ripe tomatoes from the garden ever since she was a puppy... so I don't know about that. (Of course, she is 85 lbs. Maybe the added weight gives her more leeway on a few of these.)

I knew about chocolate, corn and potatoes. I had no idea about everything else. Sugarless candy? Cherries & peaches causing cyanide poisoning? And "Schmackos" are not going to be happy about liver being on the list! Thanks for posting the link.

That is really interesting. Our retriever wont go near lettuce as well as some of the other things you mentioned. I would never have guessed.
