Living Tree Art

I don't get it. Why anthropomorphisize trees? I was never much for topiary too so I guess I have a built in bias, making plants to look like other than what they are. They look great just as they are.

Those look really cool. I'm trying to do some research into this kind of art before i embark on a little trial of my own.
