Wait... before I drift away from matters scatalogical altogether, here is a link to a site that encourages the use of fresh horsemanure as a planting medium for orchids.
Considering the number of orchids growing on my windowsills, I'm sure that would contribute to an overall ripeness in the "odeur" in our living quarters.
